Pitru Paksha Annadan 2025 – A Sacred Way to Repay Our Ancestors
The Three Sacred Debts of Human Life
According to our ancient scriptures, every human being is born with three divine debts (Rina):
1. Deva Rina (Debt to the Gods)
We are indebted to the Gods who provide us air, water, food, and life itself. We repay this debt by performing yajnas, prayers, and living a righteous life.
2. Rishi Rina (Debt to the Sages)
We are indebted to the saints and sages who gave us knowledge, culture, and wisdom. This debt is repaid through education, spreading knowledge, and following dharma.
3. Pitru Rina (Debt to the Ancestors)
We are indebted to our forefathers who gave us birth, traditions, and blessings. This debt is repaid through Pitru Paksha rituals, Shraddh, and Annadan.
Among these, Pitru Rina holds immense importance because it connects us directly with our lineage.
Why Annadan During Pitru Paksha?
Pitru Paksha (Sept 7 – Sept 21, 2025) is the sacred period when our ancestors visit Earth to bless us.
Performing Annadan (donation of food) during this time is considered the highest form of charity.
✨ Spiritual Benefits of Annadan:
-
Brings peace (shanti) and liberation (moksha) to the souls of ancestors
-
Clears the Pitru Dosha from family lineage
-
Ensures happiness, prosperity, and harmony in the family
-
Ancestors bless their descendants with good health, wealth, and spiritual growth
✨ Worldly Benefits of Annadan:
-
Feeding the hungry creates positive karma (punya)
-
Protects your family from misfortunes
-
Strengthens your connection with your roots and traditions
Why Annadan in Haridwar?
