This is not just another summer.
It’s a life-threatening crisis.
The scorching sun and violent dust storms have torn down large parts of the Daan India Foundation’s dog shelter — a sanctuary for over 100 rescued dogs who have nowhere else to go.
These animals now lie directly on burning concrete, with no shade above them, no clean water to drink, and no food left in stock. Their shelter, once a symbol of safety and love, is now damaged and dangerously exposed.

Every day, we rescue dogs in heartbreaking condition — victims of abuse, accidents, abandonment. And now, even the ones we saved are in danger again.

Chintu, a tiny pup, was hit by a speeding bike. He lay in the sun, crying, unable to move. His broken leg was infected — and he hadn’t eaten in days.
Rani, a loving mother dog, was beaten with sticks while defending her puppies. Her eye swollen shut, her back covered in bruises — she collapsed from heatstroke at our gate.
They are not exceptions.
